Every year when Easter rolls around, I find myself thinking of my Mama’s table—simple, beautiful, and full of love. It wasn’t fancy or Pinterest-perfect, but it was joyful. She made holidays feel special, not because of what we had, but because of how she loved us through the little things—like the endless cupcakes she made, how she helped Daddy make his Easter Bunny Cake (look for Wednesday’s post for the recipe!) how she’d dye eggs with us every year, or the way she and Daddy patiently hid our Easter eggs in the backyard for the perfect hunt.
If you’re craving purpose more than “stuff” this Easter, here are a few gentle ways to create a table that reflects love, hope, and joy—no matter your budget.
🌷 1. Set Your Table with Intention
Lay down a simple neutral runner or soft floral scarf. Add a vase of tulips or fresh greenery. Mix and match your dishes—it doesn’t have to be perfect.
💗 Tip: Stack thrifted plates with linen napkins tied in twine or blush ribbon for a layered look that feels sweet and lived-in.
🕊️ 2. Incorporate a Verse That Grounds You
My Mama always reminded us that Easter wasn’t just about eggs and candy. It was about Jesus, about hope rising again.
Frame a small card with a favorite verse—like:
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6

🐣 3. Add Something Handmade
Whether it’s your own Easter Bunny Cake (see my vintage bunny cake post available on Wednesday here!), painted eggs, or hand-lettered name tags—homemade always wins. It brings personality and heart into your home.

🧺 4. Keep It Cozy
Add a throw to your dining chairs. Use candles or string lights for a soft glow. Play instrumental worship music or soft piano in the background.
💡 It’s not about the look—it’s about the feeling.
