We show up for others all the time—with kindness, patience, and encouragement. But do we offer that same love to ourselves?
If you’re like me, I have a REALLY hard time being nice to myself. I am quick to use what the Bible calls “a sharp tongue” when it comes to me.
“Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery.” -Psalm 52:2
This verse uses a very strong metaphor, to show us that the tongue can be like a razor blade, and words can cut like a knife.
I ate way too much yesterday. I didn’t need that slice of carrot spice cake, but you know what? It’s one. Single. Day.
So, today I’m reminding myself (and you):
Speak to yourself kindly.
Give yourself grace.
Rest when you need to.
Loving your life starts with loving you. Be gentle with the person who’s doing her best every single day. 💛
