As we get approach mid-November, the air’s getting crisper, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves are nearly all gone, but there’s still so much to love about fall! It’s the perfect time to check off a few last fall activities before we fully dive into the winter season. So grab a cozy sweater, sip on something warm, and let’s make the most of this beautiful, fleeting season with a fall bucket list you won’t want to miss.
1. Go for a Scenic Fall Drive
Sure, the peak foliage may have passed, but the season still has some gorgeous hidden pockets of fall color to offer. Take a leisurely drive through nearby forests, nature reserves, or countryside roads and enjoy the last bursts of autumn hues. There’s something so peaceful about watching the final golden leaves flutter down as you cruise along. Bonus points if you bring along a thermos of hot cider or coffee!
2. Bake (and Eat) All the Fall Treats
Is there anything better than the smell of freshly baked cookies or pies wafting through the house? Fall is prime time for baking, whether you’re a pro or a beginner. Try your hand at classic fall goodies like pumpkin bread, apple pie, or a batch of cinnamon rolls. Want to get a little creative? How about this maple pecan scones recipe? It’s the perfect excuse to indulge in a little treat-making (and treating yourself).
3. Host a Cozy Bonfire Night
The evenings are getting chilly, but that just means it’s bonfire season! Gather a group of your favorite people, wrap up in blankets, and light up a fire pit. I love fire pits and bonfires, but hate the way my hair smells afterwards, so last Christmas Jimmy bought me this Solo Stove and I love it! Roast marshmallows, sip hot cocoa (or something stronger if you’re feeling festive), grab a blanket, and just enjoy the crackling warmth of the fire while you chit chat and laugh. It’s a simple, cozy way to savor the fall vibe before it gets too cold.
4. Get Lost in a Corn Maze or Pick a Pumpkin
If you haven’t yet crossed “corn maze” or “pumpkin patch” off your fall bucket list, now’s your chance! Many of these spots are still open in mid-November, and they’re just as fun as ever. Get lost in a corn maze, pick out a pumpkin for decorating (or maybe just for the perfect Insta shot), or enjoy a few last moments of fall festivity before winter arrives. It’s always a fun way to feel like a kid again!

5. Visit Your Local Farmers’ Market
Even though the harvest season is winding down, many farmers’ markets are still full of fall goodies in mid-November. Think sweet potatoes, squash, crisp apples, and more. A trip to your local market is the perfect excuse to stock up on seasonal produce for soups, stews, or just a cozy fall dinner. Plus, you’ll be supporting local farmers—and who doesn’t love finding something fresh and delicious?
6. Spruce Up Your Home for the Holidays
It’s that magical time of year when you can start decorating for the holidays without feeling too early about it! Mid-November is a great time to add those cozy touches—think pumpkins, candles, and warm-toned blankets—before the holiday rush really kicks in. If you’re feeling crafty, try making your own fall wreath or turning those fallen leaves into table centerpieces. It’s a lovely way to ease into the season of gratitude and giving.
7. Take a Fall Hike
There’s still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy the crisp autumn air before winter arrives. Mid-November is perfect for a quiet hike. The trails are less crowded, the temperatures are just right, and if you’re lucky, you might catch the tail end of fall foliage in some areas. Whether you’re heading to a local park or tackling a nearby trail, it’s a great way to get some fresh air and soak in the beauty of nature one last time before winter sets in.
8. Have a Fall Movie Marathon
When the weather outside is chilly, there’s nothing better than curling up with a blanket and a good movie. Put together a fall marathon with all the classics— my personal favorites are Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, and of course, Beetlejuice. Don’t forget the Gilmore Girls! Y’all. How could they end it that way??? Make it even cozier by making some popcorn, grabbing a mug of hot cocoa, and maybe even putting on a cozy sweater (yes, the one that’s starting to smell like cinnamon because of the candles you’ve been burning all season).
9. Get Crafty with Fall DIY Projects
Fall is the perfect time to get creative! Whether you love knitting, painting, or just crafting for fun, there are so many DIY projects to try. You can make fall-inspired candles, create leaf garlands, or even get crafty with some DIY decorations for your Thanksgiving table. If you’re feeling ambitious, take a paint class at a local paint shop! Jimmy and I did this last year (he looks thrilled, don’t he?) and it was SO MUCH FUN!
10. Give Back to Your Community
As we approach the season of giving, mid-November is a great time to volunteer or donate to a local cause. Whether it’s helping out at a food bank, contributing to a charity drive, or simply checking in on neighbors, it’s a great way to feel connected to your community and share some of the gratitude that’s at the heart of the fall season. It’s amazing how small acts of kindness can make the season even more meaningful.
11. Check Out Local Fall Festivals
There are still a few fall festivals, craft fairs, and harvest events going on in mid-November, so check out what’s happening in your area! These events often have everything from live music and food vendors to pumpkin carving contests and hayrides. It’s a great way to get in those last few moments of autumn fun before the holiday season kicks off. Jimmy and I enjoy festivals, and last weekend we attended the fall Vintage Market Days of Jacksonville. We had a blast!

12. Pause and Reflect
Before the whirlwind of the holiday season arrives, mid-November is the perfect time to take a step back and reflect on all the things you’re grateful for. Whether you take a few quiet moments to yourself, write in a gratitude journal, or just enjoy time with your loved ones, it’s a great way to center yourself and appreciate the simple joys of this season.
Wrapping Up: Let’s Make the Most of Fall!
There’s so much to love about mid-November, and this fall bucket list is just the start of what can be a really magical time of year. Whether you’re enjoying the outdoors, baking up a storm, or spending quality time with friends and family, there’s no better time to savor everything autumn has to offer.
