Two years ago today, I met the man who would change my life in the quietest, most powerful way.
I didn’t know it at the time—but April 17, 2023, would become one of the most important dates of my life. The day Jimmy walked into my world was the day everything began to shift. Looking back now, I can see God’s hand all over that moment. I wasn’t just meeting someone new. I was meeting the man I had prayed for—the one I didn’t truly believe existed outside of dreams.
Jimmy is the kind of man you hope for with your whole heart but never really expect to find. If I had written a list of everything I wanted in a partner—every detail, every dream, every quality that mattered—he would check every single box. And then some.
He loves to fish, he works hard with quiet strength, and he would do anything in the world for me and our little family of Julian, Kaylyn, Zach, and Gavin, and all of our fur babies. He loves my family like they’re his own and I do the same. He shows up, every single day, with patience, humility, and a heart full of grace. He never raises his voice, never gets angry, and leads our life together with a calm, steady, spirit rooted in faith.
He is truly a God-fearing man who believes that hard work and unwavering faith will get you through anything—and I’ve watched him live that out time and time again.
We’ve already weathered hard seasons together, including the heartbreaking loss of my sweet Barkley. But no matter what we face, I know one thing without a doubt—we will face it together. That kind of peace, that kind of partnership, is a gift I thank God for every day.
Jimmy, you love me in a way I didn’t know was possible. You love me like Jesus does—completely, patiently, and unconditionally. And somehow, every day, I love you more than I did the day before. We joke all the time with our little “love you more/love you most” back-and-forth, but deep down, we both know: our love for one another just keeps growing. There’s no winning the game when both hearts are all in.
I didn’t know I could love someone like this. I didn’t know I would be loved like this. Jimmy, you are a blessing straight from Heaven, and I am so grateful that our paths crossed on April 17, 2023.
One of my favorite verses has never felt more true:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Our story is living proof of that promise.
