Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Rich, creamy, and baked to golden perfection, these scalloped potatoes are the ultimate comfort food side dish. Made with layers of tender potatoes and a cheesy cream sauce, they’re a cozy addition to any holiday table—especially alongside a honey-glazed ham!

Ingredients
  

  • lbs Yukon Gold potatoes thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • cups shredded sharp cheddar
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder or nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook 1–2 mins.
  • Slowly whisk in milk and cream. Stir until thick.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup cheese, salt, pepper, and seasoning.
  • Layer half the potatoes in dish, pour half the sauce. Repeat layers.
  • Top with remaining cheese and bake covered 30 mins, then uncovered 25 more mins or until golden and bubbly.
